Beppie playing with the Babes at the GrevenGrass! . . .and Ronnie, Geert and Jan left all alone in the Netherlands? - The three man didn’t even like to imagine. . . They kept in mind last years wonderful atmosphere and their successful performance on the stage at the river Ems. They really where eager to play again this year in Greven. So it didn’t take a lot of words to get the left alone part of the Lazy Tater band back into our program. It is no doubt, that Ronnie, Geert and Jan ‘made friends’ with the GrevenGrass festival. They are glad to be back here with Lazy Tater in 2010, and of course Beppie will join them!
Lazy Tater was found in 2002 by three people who came together through their love for music. The fourth member joined the band in 2008. The band uses a mix of folk, swing, country, old time, jazz and sometimes some classic.
Ronnie Snippe started playing the guitar at young age when he listened to and learned from his older brothers. Through the years he developed into one of the best guitar players in the Dutch Bluegrass-scene, and the songs he sings come straight from his heart. He was co-founder of the “Old Home Bluegrass Boys” and is often asked as guest player in other bands. Geert van Schoonderwoerd den Bezemer is an experienced banjo player, who performed in bands like “Jerrycan” and “Flexibility”. He is a virtuoso who can play up tempo as well as beautiful ballads from the heart. With his flawless banjo picking he makes the overall sound complete. Beppie Gasman started her musical career as a singer/guitar player in “New Lowland” (bluegrass), but after a while she picked up the bass. She also took a sidestep to skiffle and is a member of the “Babes in the Grass”. Her clear voice is a treat for your ear. Jan Pals is the multi-instrumentalist of the band. He was touched by the music when he first met Beppie and started playing guitar. Then he decided to play mandolin and dobro in “New Lowland”, cello in “The Cropswood Stringband” (old time), banjo in “The double B Skiffle Group” and mandolin in “The Old Home Bluegrass Band”. He is also an accomplished instrument builder and widely recognized for his mandolins. With his voice he adds a perfect sound to the harmony singing. Clearly, because of the beautiful harmonies and the professional approach Lazy Tater is a band you don’t want to miss.
